College of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities (CSSAH) Leadership and Service Living Learning Community (LLC)

The College of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities (CSSAH) Leadership and Service LLC is designed for students majoring in one of the 12 eligible undergraduate programs offered within the College. A list of the programs can be found below. The CSSAH LLC is designed to closely align with the College mission: “... developing culturally-astute graduates who engage creativity and critical thinking to solve real-world problems and facilitate the empowerment of self and others.”  The CSSAH Leadership and Service LLC focuses on active engagement with peers and the FAMU community to produce dynamic leaders, exceptional artists, and extraordinary social activists.

The CSSAH Leadership and Service Living and Learning Community program pillars are based on the College Mission Statement:

Prospective CSSAH Leadership and Service LLC applicants must:

• Be First Time in College (FTIC) students

• Major in one of the CSSAH undergraduate degrees listed above.
  

• Have at least a 2.8 high school GPA on a 4.0 scale
  

• Submit an essay using the following prompt, “Why should I be considered for the CSSAH Leadership and Service LLC?”  Adhere to the following guidelines in your essay:
  

  • 250-300 word count limit
    
  • Please include your past leadership and service experience and your intended CSSAH major in the essay.
    

• To apply, complete the online housing application and click on the CSSAH Service and Leadership LLC. Students will also be required to participate in an Interview with the CSSAH Leadership & Service LLC Leadership Team.
